Carlynn’s On the Road to Stability with Help from Wheels4Hope and Compass Center

Carlynn and daughter close upCarlynn and her daughter were all smiles as they received a car from Wheels4Hope last Tuesday in Raleigh.  Carlynn was referred to Wheels4 Hope after completing several one-on-one financial counseling sessions as part of Compass Center for Women and Families’ self-sufficiency services.

“I am working on a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Astronomy Option), with a minor in Creative Writing,” said Carlynn. “I work four jobs now: two lab research positions, a teaching assistant job, and a job at a local makers space. Having a reliable car means being one huge step closer to a stable, new life for my daughter and me. It allows me to better manage time, get to places I need to go (such as daycare, work, school, the grocery store), and it allows us time for ourselves. This is more than a car. It’s hope for my daughter and me.”
