Compass Center Launches CUT IT OUT, A Domestic Violence Training for Hair Stylists

Salon Professionals Learn to Recognize Signs of Domestic Abuse, Support Clients

Compass Center for Women and Families is launching CUT IT OUT®: Salons Against Domestic Abuse across Orange County.  The CUT IT Cut It Out BenefitsOUT® training is a national curriculum that instructs salon professionals to recognize warning signs of domestic abuse and safely refer clients to local resources.

Beginning in July of 2017, Compass Center will offer the CUT IT OUT® training for free to area salons.  Trainings will take place at salons and refreshments will be provided. Salon professionals who participate in the training will earn one hour of continuing education credit towards their North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts license and a certificate of completion.  Participating salons will also receive awareness posters and wallet cards with Compass Center’s 24-hour crisis hotline number to display in their bathrooms.
