Licensed Mental Health Clinician

Trauma-informed mental health support is a vital component of the healing process for
adult and child survivors of domestic violence. Many survivors in our community are unable to access this support for a myriad of reasons, including financial abuse by a partner.

In response to the ongoing need for affordable and accessible mental health services for Orange County survivors of domestic violence, Compass Center for Women and Families recently applied for and was awarded a grant with funding to provide financial support for Compass Center clients to
receive mental health services with local therapists in our community.

In order to streamline this process for clients and the agency, Compass Center is
developing a referral list of local clinicians with demonstrated training and experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Clients will be empowered to choose a
clinician from this list, and Compass Center will contract with the clinician for reimbursement.
Because domestic violence impacts entire family systems, the list will include a diverse pool of
English and Spanish-speaking clinicians from a multitude of backgrounds who have expertise
working with adults, adolescents, or children.

– Must be a fully licensed mental health clinician in the state of North Carolina.
– Able to demonstrate training and clinical experience working directly with survivors of
domestic violence and sexual assault.
Willing to accept a reimbursement rate of $80.00 per hour (50 minute session with time
for notes/scheduling) on a monthly basis. Compass Center will reimburse at this rate for
up to two client-initiated late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows per client.
– Able to work with a referred client weekly or biweekly for approximately 16 sessions
beginning in 2019. Clients should be free to continue sessions past the 3-4 month mark as
a self-payer whenever possible. In some cases Compass Center may continue to
reimburse for more than 16 sessions.
– Willing to provide a profile of information related to expertise and therapeutic
approach(es) to help clients decide the best fit for them.
– Willing to sign an independent contractor agreement with Compass Center.
– Must practice in or very near Orange County, North Carolina. We hope to have a range of
therapists in southern, central, and northern Orange County.
