Leadership Announcement

It is with great excitement that the Board of Directors announces Compass Center’s new Co-Executive Directors, Bridget McEnaney and Patrick Summers. Bridget and Patrick have started their new roles, following a widespread search and selection process.

Compass Center’s Board of Directors is confident that under Bridget and Patrick’s leadership, Compass Center will continue providing the life-saving services and programs that make a difference in the lives of Orange County survivors and community. Compass Center serves survivors of relationship abuse, also known as domestic violence, and helps individuals navigate the journey toward stability, safety, and empowerment.

Meet our new Co-Eds:

Bridget began her work with Compass Center as a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate volunteer and later as an intern in 2013. Over the years she has held multiple program and leadership positions including Support Group Coordinator, Director of Client Services and Volunteer Management, Associate Director, and Interim Executive Director. Bridget is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical addictions specialist with clinical experience in perinatal mental health, interpersonal trauma, substance use, and suicide prevention. Bridget currently serves as Board Secretary of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

With extensive experience in crisis response, interpersonal violence, mental health,  nonprofit management and more than a decade of survivor support and advocacy at Compass Center, Bridget has shown her deep commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values. She is focused on sustaining and deepening the impact of programs and services to better meet the needs of the most marginalized and high-risk survivors in our community. She is also energized by interdisciplinary collaboration and opportunities to support community members, businesses, schools, and partner organizations in their work with people experiencing relationship abuse.

Patrick brings extensive experience in non-profit healthcare, strategic leadership, operational management, and a deep commitment to mission-driven work and equity. Patrick previously held several impactful roles at Planned Parenthood including Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and COO at the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, Regional Director of Operations at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and Director of Strategic Initiatives at Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. In these roles, he led numerous initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency, improve service delivery, and promote equity within the healthcare system.

With a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, Patrick believes in fostering environments where every voice is heard and valued. His approach to leadership is grounded in transparency, active listening, and a commitment to continuous improvement that empowers team members and contributes to fulfilling the organization’s mission and vision.

The Board is confident that Bridget and Patrick’s experience and thoughtful leadership will be an immense benefit to Compass Center as we continue to provide services and programs that make a difference in the lives of Orange County survivors and the broader community.
